IT Home, November 28 — According to China’s State Administration for Market Regulation, BMW (China) and BMW Brilliance have filed a recall plan involving a total of 7,740 electric vehicles across several models.
Two recall notices are included:
① Recall No. S2025M0182V (effective immediately)
- Imported i7 units produced between Dec 12, 2022 – Nov 30, 2023 (17 vehicles)
- Imported iX units produced between Mar 10 – Dec 18, 2023 (85 vehicles)
② Recall No. S2025M0183V (effective immediately)
- Domestic i5 produced between Apr 15 – Dec 18, 2024 (917 vehicles)
- Domestic iX1 produced between Apr 11, 2024 – May 17, 2025 (1,707 vehicles)
Starting January 26, 2026, an additional recall will cover:
- Domestic i3 produced between Apr 20, 2024 – Jan 4, 2025 (5,014 vehicles)
The issue stems from a flaw in the insulation fault detection mechanism, which may incorrectly shut down the high-voltage system under specific conditions, causing loss of driving power and increasing crash risk. This is a continuation of the recall issued on August 8, 2025. Since some vehicles previously received incorrect software versions, BMW will now upgrade affected vehicles to newer software free of charge to remove the safety hazard.
