Richard Yu Vows to Surpass Every Flagship as HarmonyOS Mobility’s First MPV Makes Its Real-World Debut

Fast Technology reported on December 8 that at last month’s launch event, Richard Yu officially announced that HarmonyOS Mobility’s first flagship MPV is set to make its debut. He made a bold statement on stage, declaring that this heavyweight new model will “surpass every flagship MPV currently on the market.”

Recently, the first test spy photo of this MPV has been revealed. Judging from its overall size, it is clearly a large vehicle. Based on available information, the model is expected to fall under the Luxeed (Zhijie) brand and may be named the “Zhijie V9.”

As only a single photo is available and the vehicle is fully camouflaged, the exact design details remain unclear. Even so, several key features can still be identified.

In terms of dimensions, the vehicle aligns with today’s mainstream large MPV segment, with an estimated length of around 5.3 meters. Thanks to its relatively short front overhang and a boxy overall shape, the interior space is expected to be exceptionally spacious.

Sensing hardware is visible on the front side of the vehicle, and it appears to be equipped with a solid-state LiDAR unit. Combined with its flagship positioning, this strongly suggests that the MPV will adopt Huawei’s Qiankun ADS system with a four-LiDAR layout, enabling high-level L3 highway assisted driving.

Other observed details include triangular quarter windows at the A-pillar to reduce blind spots, as well as traditional door handles rather than hidden ones. The rear is also likely to feature a full-width, continuous taillight design.

Overall, the exterior design of this MPV does not differ dramatically from other mainstream MPVs currently on the market. Whether the interior will bring more distinctive innovations remains to be seen in future disclosures.

As for the powertrain, the vehicle is expected to offer both extended-range and fully electric variants. The extended-range version is likely to be the main sales model and is expected to feature a large-capacity battery, delivering an estimated pure electric range of up to 400 kilometers. The pure electric version, meanwhile, is anticipated to be built on an 800V high-voltage architecture and support ultra-fast charging.
