Shenzhen Star Startup Announces Completion of Two Funding Rounds Backed by State-Owned and Industry Investors

On December 8, Robotics Outlook reported that Zhongqing Robotics officially announced the completion of its A1+ and A2 funding rounds, though the exact amount raised has not yet been disclosed. The A2 round was co-led by existing investor Huangpu River Capital together with Henan Investment Group’s Huirong Fund and long-time shareholder Huakong Fund. Several previous investors, including Stone Capital and DT Capital, also increased their stakes. Meanwhile, six new shareholders joined the company’s investor lineup—Guozhong Venture Capital, CCTV Fund, Nanshan Strategic Emerging Industries Fund, Caixin Capital, Geely Xingyuan, and Huiqin Capital—bringing together national-level funds, local state-owned capital, industrial investors, and leading market-oriented institutions.

Earlier in July this year, Zhongqing Robotics completed both its Pre-A++ and A1 funding rounds, raising a combined total of nearly RMB 1 billion. The Pre-A++ round was led by Xinghang Capital, a fund established by XPeng Motors as a cornerstone investor. The A1 round was led by JD.com, with participation from CATL-backed Puquan Capital, Yintai Group, as well as financial investors including Huakong Fund, Guochen Fund under DT Capital, and Huangpu River Capital.

Just days ago, the company unveiled its latest humanoid robot product, T800. Standing at 1.73 meters tall and weighing 75 kilograms, the T800 is equipped with a fully integrated, high-explosiveness joint module. Through coordinated output, it delivers a peak torque of 450 Nm and an instant joint peak power of up to 14,000 W. With highly human-like motion control, the T800 demonstrates impressive dynamic burst performance and load-bearing potential in high-intensity scenarios such as combat simulations and high-speed running.

The T800 is priced starting at RMB 180,000 and is available in four configurations: Basic, Open-Source, Pro, and Max. These versions are designed to serve a wide range of applications, including scientific research and education, patrol and inspection, commercial services, cultural tourism and entertainment, logistics delivery, and industrial collaboration. Zhongqing Robotics stated that these capabilities allow the robot to be seamlessly adapted across diverse industrial environments. The T800 has already completed closed-loop technical validation in several core application scenarios and is set to enter large-scale industrial deployment soon.

On December 6, the company released a viral video showing the T800 knocking down its founder and CEO, Zhao Tongyang, with a single kick. Zhao joked that the force was “too violent and too intense,” adding that without protective gear, no one could withstand it without risking serious injury. The video quickly drew widespread attention online, highlighting the robot’s powerful physical performance.

Previously, Zhongqing Robotics also launched several other humanoid robots, including the SA01 tailored for scientific research and education, the full-sized general-purpose humanoid SE01, and the lightweight general-purpose PM01. The company has also developed its first quadruped robotic dog, the JS01.

Zhongqing Robotics revealed that it has already established its own production line in the Honghualing Industrial Zone of Nanshan District, Shenzhen. Looking ahead, a global manufacturing center is planned in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. The company is now fully prepared for the mass production and delivery of both the PM01 and the newly launched T800.
