On December 24, IT Home reported that a blogger shared their first impression of the Zeekr logo, joking that it looked like “taking a detour.” In response, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Senior Vice President Yang Xueliang offered a clear and detailed explanation of the logo’s origin, design meaning, and how it eventually became Zeekr’s emblem.

According to Yang, the mark was originally created for Lynk & Co. The name “Lynk” carries the idea of “linking” or “connecting,” and the logo was designed to symbolize connection in a very visual way—either as two doors representing East and West, or as two hands clasped together in partnership.

Later, Lynk & Co decided to adopt a cleaner identity system that used only English letters as its primary logo. As a result, the original symbol was passed on to Zeekr, where it continued its evolution as the brand’s signature mark.

Previously, IT Home also reported that Geely Automobile Holdings Limited announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that it had acquired all issued and outstanding Zeekr shares, along with Zeekr American Depositary Shares. Following the transaction, the merger subsidiary was merged into Zeekr, with Zeekr remaining as the surviving entity and continuing operations.

As a result, Zeekr has been privatized as a wholly owned subsidiary of Geely, and the company has been delisted from the New York Stock Exchange.

Sources close to Geely’s leadership noted that related management adjustments have now been completed alongside the merger:

Li Donghui has been appointed Vice Chairman of Geely Holding Group, responsible for day-to-day board management as well as the group’s investment and financing operations.

An Conghui has been named CEO of Geely Holding Group, fully overseeing the group’s operational management.

Gui Shengyue continues as CEO and Executive Director of Geely Automobile Holdings Limited.

Gan Jiayue has become CEO of the merged Geely Automobile Group, while also remaining an Executive Director of Geely Automobile Holdings Limited.
