Li Hongyi Hit with a Court “Consumption Restriction Order” — Banned from Flying, Taking High-Speed Rail, or Staying at Star-Rated Hotels

Chinese actor Li Hongyi, 27, rose in popularity in recent years for his role as Xiao Se in The Blood of Youth. He is now reported to be under a court-issued restriction on high-spending activities. According to the report, Li is involved in a contract dispute with Hunan Mango Entertainment Co., Ltd. After failing to fulfill a payment obligation within the time limit stated in an enforcement notice, the court allegedly imposed consumption restrictions and formally opened compulsory enforcement proceedings on December 8.

A widely circulated copy of the restriction order states that Li is barred from various high-consumption activities not essential to daily life or work. These include restrictions on flying, booking soft sleepers on trains, and taking second-class (or higher) cabins on ships. It also claims he is prohibited from taking any seat on “G” high-speed trains. Spending at star-rated hotels, nightclubs, and golf courses is reportedly restricted as well. The order further lists bans on purchasing real estate, renting premium office space, enrolling children in high-fee private schools, and buying high-value insurance or wealth-management products.

The court order reportedly warns that violations, once verified, may result in fines or detention, and in serious cases could lead to criminal liability under the law. The restrictions would remain in place until Li fulfills the obligations specified in the effective legal documents. Given Li’s active entertainment career, the news has drawn significant public attention.

Previous Chinese media reports said Li signed an eight-year talent contract with Mango Entertainment at age 16 through his guardian, with the company providing training funds of at least RMB 100,000. The contract allegedly set a penalty of RMB 1,000,000 per remaining year in case of breach. Li reportedly terminated the contract unilaterally in 2017, leading to litigation. A court decision in 2019 allegedly required continued performance of the contract and compensation of RMB 2,000,000. Reports also claim that in 2023 the company sought additional damages, arguing his filming work constituted unauthorized private engagements and that related income should be fully turned over.
