The Chinese Super League may welcome another “Paulinho.” Russian journalist Sergey Iliev revealed that Zhejiang FC is considering activating a €1.5 million buyout clause to sign Chilean national team midfielder Nacho, currently at Russian Premier League side Sochi. If confirmed, the 26-year-old could form a formidable double pivot alongside Korean international Park Jin-seop, boosting Zhejiang’s prospects for the new season.
Since joining Sochi in 2024, Nacho has made 73 appearances, scoring 6 goals and providing 8 assists, while also earning four caps for Chile’s national team. With a market value of €1.8 million—top ten in the CSL—his €1.5 million buyout clause represents great value.
Known for his stamina, defensive acumen, and long-range shooting, Nacho has already scored 4 goals and assisted once this season, ranking among Sochi’s top scorers despite playing as a defensive midfielder. His all-around abilities suggest he could replicate Paulinho’s impact in the CSL. Pairing him with Park Jin-seop would significantly strengthen Zhejiang’s midfield and defensive solidity.
While several CSL clubs are also looking to bolster their defensive midfield, and the Russian journalist may have misreported the team, Nacho’s potential move has already stirred excitement among fans.
