Fifty-nine-year-old actress Guan Baohui was recently described by actor Simon Yam as a “beautiful Manchu woman” during a TVB interview program A Week of Stars. Yam also made a surprising remark suggesting that Guan and 64-year-old actor Felix Wong, who has been widowed for five years, might be close to developing a romantic relationship. He joked, “I think it’s almost happening… very soon! Bao-wai has even started liking football now.”

This past Christmas, Guan Baohui had a fulfilling holiday. In addition to enjoying a festive meal with family members, she also attended a stage play. However, she unexpectedly referred to another man—also nicknamed “Wah Gor”—as her “husband,” prompting some netizens to ask directly, “Is this an official announcement? Congratulations?”

The “other Wah Gor” Guan called her “husband” is actor Yuen Fu-wah. Last Saturday (Dec 27), Guan shared photos on social media showing her Boxing Day activities, including attending the stage production Happy Tonight with friends such as former actress Lai Hoi-shan, who has since left the entertainment industry. Another photo showed Guan posing with Yuen Fu-wah, accompanied by a caption that read: “Amazing husband, winning another award. #YuenFuWah.” Netizens immediately flooded the comments with messages such as “Official announcement? Congratulations!” and “Husband!” along with heart emojis.

Guan Baohui and Yuen Fu-wah previously worked together in 2021 on the stage play Two-Year Wife, in which they portrayed a divorced couple with an emotionally complicated, on-again-off-again relationship.

Yuen Fu-wah, now 60, achieved major acclaim for his role in the film The Dumpling Queen, winning Best Supporting Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards, the Golden Rooster Awards, and the Golden Horse Awards—becoming the first actor to collect all three major Chinese-language film “Best Supporting Actor” honors. He also recently made a guest appearance in the hit drama series The Queen of News 2, playing the mysterious character Hu Zhicheng (Richard Wu), who confronts Man姐 (played by Charmaine Sheh) and Ko Chiu-wah (played by Bosco Wong). Though smiling on the surface, the character is deeply sinister, earning widespread praise from viewers for his “god-tier” acting.

On Christmas Day itself, Guan Baohui did not disclose who she spent the holiday with. However, she uploaded a cheerful selfie showing Christmas decorations—Santa Claus and snowman lights—inside her home, along with a table full of takeaway dishes, suggesting a group gathering. She captioned the post: “Merry Christmas #merrychristmas #joy.”

In fact, rumors linking Felix Wong and Guan Baohui date back to September 2021, when the two were seen dining together twice within half a month and shared photos showing them in close proximity. Guan had previously stated that her ideal partner would be bespectacled, not younger than herself, and that she was open to dating a divorced person—fueling speculation of a romance. However, both Guan and Wong’s daughter, Wong Ji-ching, quickly denied the rumors at the time.

In 2023, Chinese websites again circulated claims that Felix Wong had successfully proposed to Guan Baohui. Guan later said in an interview that when the rumors resurfaced, she felt Wong had intentionally distanced himself. Wong responded cryptically with a short statement: “What’s true should be said; what’s false isn’t worth mentioning.” He also clarified that he had never promised to “never remarry,” saying such headlines were media hype. As for relationships, Wong said he has grown accustomed to being single and believes that love should be left to fate rather than pursued blindly.
