Qingdao Hainiu’s New Coach Milan: Long-Awaited Opportunity, Inspired by Ambition and Dedication

Qingdao Hainiu’s new head coach Milan officially led the team for the first training session of the 2026 season today and spoke to the club’s official media. On the upcoming season, Milan stated: “We need to work 24/7 to achieve our season goals.”

Reflecting on his impression of Qingdao, Milan said: “Including previous visits, this is my fifth time in Qingdao, whether for matches or bringing my family here for sightseeing. It’s a beautiful city with friendly, welcoming people, and the club is very professional.”

Explaining why he chose Hainiu, Milan added: “I have wanted to work at this club for a long time. Qingdao Hainiu is the most historic and influential club in the city. I feel the ambition and preparation within the team, and through hard work this season, we hope to achieve the best results in recent years.”

Introducing his coaching team, Milan said: “Our first assistant, Mihalo, has over ten years of professional experience in China. I appreciate having senior members in the team. The second assistant, Luka, serves as both coach and analyst and has lived in China for over six years. Our fitness coach, Stefan, specializes in physical training. We also have a team of Chinese assistants. I am very satisfied with the overall structure.”

Regarding expectations for 2026, Milan emphasized: “Achieving our goals will require 24/7 commitment from everyone. I feel the passion and dedication of the staff and players. As a team, we must maintain high intensity and continuous effort to succeed this season.”
