On December 30, social media buzzed about Pop Mart selling items at half price. Labubu 3.0 “Forward Energy” series saw prices drop sharply since December 19: originally 594 RMB, summer peak at 1478 RMB, now only 629 RMB. The mini THE MONSTERS “Secret Code” series also fell 10%.
Other series experienced similar declines: Labubu “Sit Party” plush vinyl figures, originally 99 RMB, now as low as 82 RMB. Listings on second-hand platforms increased, but selling prices fell. At Beijing’s Wukesong Huaxi Pop Mart store, items could be purchased directly without reservation, indicating cooling demand.
Resellers are backing off: Shanghai buyer Li Huan said, “I’ve already lost a lot; the stock I bought hasn’t sold yet, and prices have dropped so much, I dare not buy more.”
