【TVB Awards 2025】吳業坤 wins “Most Improved Male Artiste,” breaks down in tears on stage.

(Macau, Jan 4) The TVB Anniversary Awards were held tonight in Macau. Former Miss Hong Kong contestant Samantha Yip took home the “Most Improved Female Artiste” award. Overjoyed on stage, she thanked the long-running sitcom Come Home Love: Happy Courier, saying that growing together with audiences over the past nine years made her realize how meaningful it is to be an actress. She added that she will continue to work with passion, noting that “only when you have a fire in your heart can you truly move the audience.”

Meanwhile, “Most Improved Male Artiste” went to Kwan Gor (Ng Yip-kun). The moment presenter Michelle Yim announced his name, he broke down in tears. He continued crying as he walked from the audience to the stage and struggled to stop even while accepting the trophy—prompting loud applause from the crowd and creating one of the night’s most memorable scenes.

In his speech, Ng said he had been on this journey for 16 years and thanked TVB for supporting and nurturing him throughout that time. He also jokingly expressed hope that executive Virginia Lok would be able to see him “stay until retirement.” Reflecting on life, he said some people may start ahead, but there is no finish line in life’s race, and he hopes that in the future, people will associate him with professionalism and sincerity.
