Two Titles in 7 Days! Zhu Yuling Stages Comeback to Win WTT Doha Women’s Singles

In the early hours of January 19, at the WTT Doha Star Challenge women’s singles final, 31-year-old Zhu Yuling delivered a stunning performance. Trailing 0-2, she won four consecutive games to defeat Japan’s Hitomi Sato 4-2, claiming the championship and securing two titles in just 7 days.

Zhu started the match off slowly, losing the first two games 5-11 and 11-13. But she quickly regained her form, taking Game 3 11-7 and Game 4 11-6. In the pivotal fifth game, she surged from 6-5 to an 11-6 win, then dominated the sixth 11-5, leaving Sato overwhelmed.

Throughout her championship run, Zhu defeated three Japanese players after the quarterfinals, demonstrating exceptional form. She has now achieved 10 consecutive wins in 2026, carrying tremendous momentum. After the match, Zhu said: "I didn’t expect to start 2026 in such form. Winning these two titles gives me great confidence—next time I face difficulties, I’ll remind myself I have overcome them before."
