Nicole Kidman announces divorce, ending a 19-year marriage.

Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman and country music star Keith Urban, long regarded as one of the entertainment industry’s most admired couples, have officially ended their marriage after 19 years. The former couple finalized their divorce on January 6 after submitting a mutual settlement agreement to the court.

According to international media reports, the divorce was attributed to “irreconcilable differences.” Sources indicate that the pair grew apart due to demanding work schedules and differing views on lifestyle and career priorities. Tensions reportedly increased in recent years as both focused heavily on their respective careers.

The divorce petition was initially filed in September last year, with legal proceedings concluding after approximately three months. Given that both parties earn substantial incomes, they mutually agreed to waive spousal support, child support claims, and to cover their own legal expenses. All shared assets—including investments, bank accounts, vehicles, and personal belongings—will be divided according to a private agreement. It remains unclear whether a prenuptial agreement was in place.

Regarding their children, the couple will share joint custody of their two daughters. The children will primarily reside with Kidman, while spending scheduled time with Urban. All major decisions concerning education and healthcare will require mutual consent. The agreement also emphasizes maintaining a supportive and respectful co-parenting relationship and prohibits negative public statements about one another or their families.
