(New Delhi, Jan 16) The India Open (Super 750) continued with the women’s doubles quarterfinals today, where Malaysia’s world No. 2 pair Pearly Tan / Thinaah Muralitharan faced Chinese Taipei’s world No. 9 duo Hsieh Pei-shan / Hung En-tzu. Having won both of their previous meetings, the Malaysians extended their record with a straight-games win 21–16, 21–10, advancing to the semifinals.

In the first game, the Taipei pair edged ahead early at 6–4. Tan/Thinaah responded with a seven-point run to take control and led 11–6 at the interval. They maintained the momentum after the break, moving ahead 13–6 and 17–9, before closing out the opener 21–16.

The second game saw the Malaysians start strongly at 5–3 and then widen the gap to 11–5 at the interval. They continued to dominate the rallies, reaching 20–10 and converting match point to seal the win 21–10, booking their place in the last four.
