(Hong Kong, Jan 21) Former Miss Hong Kong winner Lisa-Marie Tse (謝嘉怡), often dubbed the “most beautiful mixed-heritage” champion, has remained a fan favourite since her 2020 win. Despite limited drama opportunities over the years, she left an impression on viewers through her role as “Lui Koon Kwan”, an intern at the “Jie Lung Group”, in TVB sitcom Come Home Love: Happy Courier. She later disappeared from the spotlight and eventually announced her departure from TVB in 2025—prompting renewed public attention.

According to Hong Kong media, Tse recently appeared on SpotiTalk, a web programme hosted by Joey Leung (梁靖琪), where she revealed for the first time that she has been diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome). She shared that the diagnosis has reshaped her understanding of how lifestyle choices affect health.

In the interview, Tse also spoke about her background before entering showbiz, saying she had worked as an operating theatre nurse at St John’s Hospital in Livingston, the UK. She returned to Hong Kong to compete in Miss Hong Kong to fulfil her father’s dream, admitting she never truly enjoyed being on stage. “You only live once—why not overcome fear and fully embrace life?” she said.

Tse added that PCOS helped her connect the dots on long-standing issues such as migraines and hair loss, which she believes may have been related. While doctors advised lifelong hormonal treatment, she said she did not want to rely on it. Instead, she began researching and adopting a more holistic approach—adjusting her diet, reducing stress and managing her health through lifestyle changes. In her view, many conditions can be improved or controlled through how one lives.

She hopes to raise awareness of women’s health issues like PCOS and encourage people to care for their bodies more proactively. “Live in the way you believe is right, don’t worry too much about criticism, and enjoy life—because it’s too short,” she said.
