A report from Kuai Technology says Apple may unveil iOS 27 at WWDC in the first half of this year, and the iPhone 18 lineup will ship with iOS 27 preinstalled.

The headline feature is a revamped Siri chatbot, codenamed “Campos,” positioned to compete with Claude, Gemini, and ChatGPT. Campos is expected to be integrated across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, replacing the current Siri. It may run on a customized model based on Google Gemini, and can be launched via the Siri wake word or a long press on the side button.

Reported capabilities include web search, image generation, coding help, summarization, and file analysis. It may also use on-device personal data to complete tasks, understand what’s on your screen or in the active window, and even adjust system settings. Apple is said to integrate it deeply into core apps like Photos, Mail, Messages, Music, and Apple TV.

The timeline suggests iOS 26.4 will introduce a more personalized Siri and deliver previously promised Apple Intelligence features, while the more powerful chatbot Siri arrives with iOS 27. Because AI requests require significant compute, the report claims Apple may charge a fee for the chatbot Siri, though pricing is unknown.
