CAMEL has issued an apology to Wang Junkai regarding the incident.

On January 23, apparel brand CAMEL issued an apology statement on its official Weibo account. The company said that due to internal management loopholes and insufficient review and supervision, a staff member mistakenly entered into a collaboration with a Douyin creator and improperly used the brand’s official account to post inappropriate comments in the video’s comment section. CAMEL apologized to its global brand ambassador, Karry Wang Junkai, and to his fans.

According to the statement, the brand contacted the artist’s team to apologize immediately after the incident, launched a full-chain internal review and rectification process, coordinated the removal of the related video, and imposed strict disciplinary actions on the staff member involved as well as relevant responsible parties. The company also pledged to improve end-to-end governance over its official accounts and strengthen professional training for its operations team to prevent similar incidents.

The topic “CAMEL apologizes to Wang Junkai” trended online the same day. In its statement, CAMEL said it understood fans’ disappointment and anger, thanked the public for pointing out the problem, and promised to implement stricter management and more standardized operations going forward.

Public information indicates that Wang Junkai became CAMEL’s global brand ambassador in July 2024. Corporate database records show that Guangdong Camel Apparel Co., Ltd.—an entity associated with “CAMEL”—was established in October 2005 with a registered capital of RMB 50 million, with business scope covering the manufacturing of apparel, footwear, and bags, and ownership shared by multiple companies. Court-related records show the company has been involved in various types of disputes, including service contract disputes, unfair competition disputes, and product seller liability disputes.
