September 28 – FIFA is reportedly preparing a significant rule change that could reshape penalty situations. Starting from the 2026/27 season, missed penalties would no longer allow for rebounds; instead, the defending side would be awarded a goal kick.

Bayern Munich captain and legendary goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has voiced his approval of the proposal. In an interview, he stated:

“Any rule that benefits goalkeepers, I’ll always support.”
