On January 26, Pan Lichi, President and CEO of Porsche China, commented on the recent “dealer runaway” incident involving stores operated by Dongan Group, stating that the situation had a significant impact on Porsche and was not something the company wished to see. Porsche China has taken swift action to protect consumer interests, and Dongan Group is no longer included within the core investor framework of Porsche’s dealer network.
The incident originated in December 2025, when two authorized Porsche Centers—Zhengzhou Zhongyuan and Guiyang Mengguan—under Dongan Group abruptly ceased operations. Reports indicated staff became unreachable and vehicles were removed from the premises, leaving some customers unable to take delivery of vehicles they had already paid for, while others were unable to obtain required vehicle compliance certificates. Porsche China later confirmed that the issue stemmed from Dongan Group’s own financial difficulties.
Pan emphasized that this was an isolated incident caused by the investor’s operational problems and should not be viewed as indicative of the overall health of Porsche’s dealer network in China. Following the incident, Porsche China adopted a proactive approach, coordinating with customers, banks, and other stakeholders to seek solutions for affected clients.
As a key measure, Porsche China formally terminated the dealership agreements for the two centers on December 31, 2025, while reserving the right to pursue further legal action. Pan stated that Dongan Group is no longer part of Porsche’s dealer network.
He also acknowledged that the process of safeguarding customer rights is complex, as it involves vehicle inventory financing arrangements and requires coordination among the brand, dealer investors, lending banks, and local authorities.
