During the Chinese Super League winter break, clubs are actively reshaping their squads. The latest transfer updates show Taishan and Rongcheng securing new reinforcements, while Shenhua has decided to pass on a high-priced national team goalkeeper.
Shandong Taishan Strengthens Defense
Taishan’s midfield and attack are stable, but the backline required reinforcement. With foreign center-back Lopez gone and domestic options aging, the club has signed He Yiran from relegated Changchun Yatai. According to media reports, the deal is nearly finalized.
Interestingly, CSL newcomers Liaoning Ironmen were also pursuing He Yiran, but Taishan’s experience and established status secured the signing.
Chengdu Rongcheng Welcomes Alex Chu
Following the departure of head coach Xu Zhengyuan and key players like captain Zhou Dingyang and Yan Dinghao, Rongcheng signed 26-year-old Hong Kong international Alex Chu, who played 13 games for defending champions Shanghai Port last season. Chu’s integration and impact will be closely watched in the new season.
Shenhua Passes on 20 Million RMB Goalkeeper Li Hao
Shanghai Shenhua made significant changes to their attacking line, and rumors linked them to U23 goalkeeper Li Hao, priced at 20 million RMB by Qingdao West Coast. Despite Li’s outstanding performance in the U23 Asian Cup, leading the saves chart, Shenhua has decided not to pursue the transfer.
With Ma Zhen and Xue Qinghao already in goal, Shenhua’s real priority is finding a top striker to boost offensive firepower—a key focus for the winter transfer window.
