(Taipei, Feb 2) — Taiwanese entertainer Kang Kang and his wife Chang Chia-pei share two children and are known for their close, warm family dynamic. Their son is now in middle school, while their seven-year-old daughter, Alyssa, is outgoing, witty, and often makes the whole family laugh—many say she inherited her father’s humor.

In a recent interview, Kang revealed that he held a small “wedding” ceremony with Alyssa, and the reason behind it was unexpectedly emotional.

According to China Times News, Kang threw a birthday party at home for Alyssa. But her birthday wish stunned both parents: she said she wanted “to marry Dad.” At first, Kang and his wife thought the idea sounded strange and even reacted with disbelief. After thinking it through, however, they decided to honor her childlike wish by arranging a playful “mini wedding” that carried deeper meaning.

Kang later shared that he is approaching 60, and even if Alyssa were to marry at 20, he would be in his seventies by then. Whether he would be able to witness that day, he said, is uncertain.

“If I can’t wait until her real wedding,” he explained, “at least we’ll have this video. One day it can comfort her, remind her of me, and let her know that no matter what, her dad will always love her and stay by her side.”

On the day of the party, Alyssa insisted her father wear a suit while she changed into a bridal dress. They “walked in” together, and she even planned a mock proposal scene—asking him to kneel on one knee, put a ring on her finger, and say a playful line: “Wifey, I love you. Will you stay with me forever?” The moment was both sweet and adorable.

Beyond her “marry Dad” wish, Alyssa also showed a caring side by dedicating her first wish to her brother, hoping he would “get more and more handsome.”
