On February 3, Adobe announced to users that its 2D animation software, Adobe Animate, will stop being sold on March 1, 2026.
Explaining the decision, Adobe said the product has a history spanning more than 25 years and has played a significant role in creating, nurturing, and expanding the animation ecosystem.
However, the company noted that ongoing advances in technology have brought forward new platforms and formats that better meet users’ evolving needs—prompting Adobe to plan an end to support for Adobe Animate.
