Gigi Lai, 54—often praised as an “ageless goddess”—shared a series of heartwarming photos and short videos on social media on the 2nd to celebrate her father’s 88th birthday. The family of four gathered together, creating a warm and intimate scene.

The birthday dinner was held at an elegant restaurant and felt both festive and meaningful. Lai celebrated alongside her mother and her younger brother, Lai Ying. On the table were a strawberry-covered birthday cake and an eye-catching oversized peach-shaped longevity bun, surrounded by smaller longevity buns, peanuts, and gold-leaf-decorated pastries—adding a grand, traditional touch to the celebration.

Lai also prepared a framed birthday blessing written in gold, reading: “May your blessings be as vast as the Eastern Sea, and may you live as long as the Southern Mountain—Happy Birthday.” Photos from the dinner also showed an abundant spread of food, including Chinese cured-meat claypot rice, roast goose, and amaranth greens served in broth, giving the gathering a cozy, family-style feel.

In her post, Lai wrote a heartfelt message to her father, saying his love for Chinese literature had deeply influenced her. She added that every poem and painting reflected his spirit, and that being by his side helped her grow—wishing he would continue to recite poetry and paint while staying with the family.
