Fast Technology reported on February 7 that, unlike its bigger sibling the Zeekr 9X, the Zeekr 8X is clearly positioning itself as a sport-focused, handling-oriented SUV—one that unmistakably targets the BMW X5. In the latest batch of new-vehicle filings released by China’s MIIT, the Zeekr 8X Performance Flagship has now made its official appearance.
Up front, the new model continues the Zeekr 9X-inspired design direction, featuring a signature waterfall-style grille, while refining the details to better match its more aggressive performance identity.
The Performance Flagship adopts an all-black “blacked-out” theme and adds a noticeably bolder sports package. Key elements include more aggressive front and rear bumpers, sport-styled air-duct detailing, a rear diffuser, smoked wheels, and striking red brake calipers—delivering a sharper, more attack-ready look.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 5,108 mm long, 2,026 mm wide, and 1,780 mm tall, with a 3,069 mm wheelbase. Compared with the standard version, the Performance Flagship grows in both length and width, reinforcing its larger, more planted road presence.
One standout highlight is the tire setup, which matches the BMW X5’s “wide stance” approach. The Zeekr 8X Performance Flagship runs 22-inch wheels with 275-section front tires and massive 315-section rear tires. Compared with the 245–255 widths commonly seen on mainstream new-energy SUVs, this configuration elevates both visual impact and real-world grip potential.
Adding to its performance character, the SUV can be equipped with an electrically adjustable rear wing—an uncommon feature in this segment and a strong signal of its sporty intent. Buyers can also choose optional equipment such as powered side steps, wheel designs, a streaming rear-view mirror camera, and an infrared night-vision camera.
On the powertrain side, the new model uses a 2.0T plug-in hybrid system. The engine is rated at a maximum output of 205 kW, paired with a tri-motor setup that is said to deliver up to 1,400 horsepower, with a claimed top speed of 230 km/h. The filing also suggests the potential for high-end hardware including a 6C ultra-fast-charging large battery, Zeekr’s Haohan AI digital chassis, and a 48V active anti-roll system.
