Great Wall Haval Menglong PLUS Exterior Unveiled: Boxy “Off-Road” Styling + Rear-Mounted Spare, Continuing Hi4 Plug-in Hybrid Power

IT Home reported on February 8 that Great Wall Motor’s Haval SUV lineup revealed the first official “final-look” images of its newest model, the Haval Menglong PLUS, earlier this morning.

The new SUV embraces a bold boxy silhouette with strong, squared-off lines that project a rugged, adventurous character. Design highlights include side steps, a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, a chunky front bumper, and an externally mounted rear spare tire—styled like a compact “backpack”—to reinforce its tough, off-road-inspired identity.

According to information from MIIT’s 404th batch of the Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products Announcement released Friday evening, the Haval Menglong PLUS measures 4912 mm long (including the spare tire; 4792 mm without it), 1950 mm wide, and 1886 mm tall (1905 mm in another configuration), with a 2850 mm wheelbase.

For comparison, the current Haval Menglong Hi4 comes in at 4800/1950/1843 mm with a 2738 mm wheelbase. Overall, the Menglong PLUS is clearly larger—and it is positioned as a 7-seat SUV.

On the powertrain side, the model continues with a 1.5T engine paired with Haval’s Hi4 plug-in hybrid system. The engine delivers a maximum output of 115 kW, while top speed is listed at 190 km/h.

For the battery, the vehicle uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) packs from SVOLT (Honeycomb Energy) and offers multiple pure-electric range options, including 103 km, 105 km, 145 km, 147 km, 188 km, and 191 km (as listed in the filing).
