‘The Occupant (International Version)’ Hits Hong Kong Screens With Its Most Brutal Scenes Intact — Josie Ho Injured Her Arm and Knee During Filming, Leaving Husband Conroy Chan Worried

(Hong Kong, 9th) Fifteen years after its original release, Dream Home star and producer Josie Ho returned to the spotlight with the Hong Kong premiere of Dream Home – International Version, directed by Pang Ho-cheung. Ho attended the screening with her husband and producer Conroy Chan, alongside filmmakers and artists including Iman.

The international cut restores the film’s most explicit and violent scenes. Ho said the film was ahead of its time and previously constrained by local censorship, making the release of the full version feel vindicating. The film also marks the debut project of their company, 852 Films, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

Ho shared that the film received strong international acclaim, including a Best Actress win at the Sitges Film Festival, and has been screened widely overseas. Despite interest in remakes or sequels, she declined, believing the story should remain authentic.

Currently filming The Buddhist Chef 2, Ho sustained injuries during action scenes but still made time for the premiere. Nearly 90% of the audience stayed for autographs, and a later university screening drew over 300 students, highlighting the film’s lasting impact.
