(Kuala Lumpur, 9th) Shell Malaysia marked its 135th anniversary in Malaysia by reaffirming its position as an “energy company supporting the energy transition,” while accelerating efforts in EV charging, digital platform integration, and non-fuel retail innovation to deliver a more seamless mobility-and-energy experience.
Mobility & Convenience General Manager Siu Li Ming said the company cannot disclose detailed financial figures due to confidentiality, but business performance continues to grow. Going forward, Shell’s focus will shift beyond promotions and rewards toward greater “value” and “innovation.”
On EV infrastructure, she noted Shell Malaysia has deployed around 160 EV charging points nationwide, with continued expansion. She added Shell is currently the only charging brand offering a single app experience linking Malaysia and Singapore. The network covers key stretches of the North–South Expressway, spans both coasts, and extends to tourist destinations such as Genting Highlands, where Shell has set up Malaysia’s highest-altitude charging hub and the country’s only EV centre featuring 10 large charging facilities.
Regarding the integration of Shell App and Shell Recharge App, Siu said teams are pushing toward a single-app, seamless experience, reflecting the reality that many households own both ICE and EV vehicles. The timeline, she said, is “as soon as possible.”
To celebrate the anniversary, Shell Malaysia also launched a consumer campaign worth RM1.35 million.
