Japanese female idol performs in swimsuit amid subzero blizzard; agency issues public apology

Japanese media reported that the festival took place at Odori Park and other venues in Sapporo, Hokkaido, with Planck Stars appearing as guest performers. During the show on the 8th, Aisei initially wore a fluffy stage outfit but soon took off the outer layer. Photos and clips posted by the official account quickly went viral.

Many commenters expressed concern about the extreme cold and criticized the stunt, while a small number praised her effort. In its statement, management said the “surprise outfit” was not shared in advance with organizers and was Aisei’s personal decision—not something the company instructed or planned. They added that they will tighten pre-show communication, require warmer costumes, and urged people to avoid excessive harassment toward staff, organizers, or the member involved.
