On Feb. 12, Doubao—the app under ByteDance—officially announced that its video generation model Seedance 2.0 has been rolled out across the Doubao mobile app, desktop client, and web version.
In the Doubao app chat interface, users can tap the newly added “Seedance 2.0” option, enter a prompt, and generate a 5-second or 10-second video.
Notably, early hands-on testing indicates that Doubao currently does not allow videos related to celebrities. Doubao explained that the platform applies stricter rules to synthetic content involving real celebrities combined with specific brands, mainly to:
- reduce potential infringement risks tied to portrait rights and endorsement relationships;
- prevent viewers from mistaking the content as an official endorsement and spreading misinformation.
