Recently, some online posts claimed that the Meizu 23 project has been halted, and that Meizu’s smartphone business may be heading toward dissolution. As of publication, Meizu has not issued an official response. Meizu customer service, meanwhile, said they have not received any notice regarding such changes.

Previously, at the 2026 Meizu Fan New Year event, Meizu announced plans to launch the Meizu 23 in 2026, highlighting improved in-hand feel and what it called the narrowest bezels in Meizu’s history, while noting the device would no longer use a white front panel. Meizu also indicated the phone was expected to debut around mid-year.

At the same event, Meizu said the Meizu 22 Air had been canceled, citing the impact of sharply rising memory prices. (Sina Tech)
