(Kuala Lumpur, 13th) As one of Malaysia’s most iconic karaoke brands, Red Box has continuously connected communities through music, entertainment, and social engagement. By transcending borders and generations, the brand steadily advances toward its vision of becoming Asia’s leading entertainment social space.
Red Box recently hosted its “Annual Artist & Media Gathering,” bringing together artists, media partners, musicians, collaborators, and suppliers to celebrate the past year’s achievements and unveil its future roadmap. The event served not only as a celebration but also as a vital networking platform for the music industry.
The highlight of the evening centered on Red Box’s proprietary song request data, with the official announcement of several major awards:
- 2025 Top 10 Local Mandarin Hit Songs
- 2026 Top 10 Local Chinese New Year Songs
- 2026 Best New Chinese New Year Song
All awards were determined based on authentic song request data, reflecting genuine consumer listening behavior and market trends, thereby reinforcing credibility and industry relevance.
Among the 2025 Top 10 Local Mandarin Hit Songs, Firdhaus emerged as the biggest winner, sweeping four awards with:
“Alaska Bay”
“Friendship Forever”
“Life’s Ups and Downs”
“We Are All First-Time Humans”
These tracks consistently achieved high request rates across Red Box outlets, demonstrating strong popularity and market impact within the local Mandarin music scene.
Beyond being a beloved karaoke destination, Red Box has evolved into a comprehensive entertainment social space, connecting artists, media, and consumers within an integrated ecosystem. By utilizing nationwide real-time request data instead of short-term hype, Red Box ensures that its charts genuinely reflect market demand and audience preference.
In addition, Red Box welcomed educator JinV Wong Fan Shuo to conduct classes within its premises, offering students a dynamic alternative learning environment immersed in music, blending entertainment with education.
Executive Director Terry Swee stated:
“We are grateful for the continuous support from artists, media, and partners. The music industry thrives through collaboration, and Red Box will continue serving as a bridge to bring great music to wider audiences. We also encourage artists to integrate their works into our backend song request system, allowing us to help promote quality music to more listeners.”
Red Box aims to expand its nationwide outlets to 15 branches, with new locations planned in Melaka, Genting, and Johor.
Meanwhile, Green Box is set to return in 2026, targeting expansion to 100 branches. Initial locations include Kota Kemuning, Subang, KLIA2, and Aeon Tebrau.
During the event, Green Box officially received ASEAN Records recognition as the “First and Most Functionally Integrated Mobile Social Hub in ASEAN,” integrating 33 operational functions within a 2m x 2m modular structure, including licensed entertainment, recording, wellness features, screen projection, and conferencing systems.
Looking ahead, Red Box remains committed to collaborating with industry partners, leveraging innovative technology and community engagement to propel Malaysian Mandarin music onto the Asian stage while elevating entertainment experiences.
