Blogger “Xiaomajia Bu Xiao” reported that in January 2026, Xiaomi Motors sold 99 units in the Russian EV market, surpassing Tesla’s 16 units. Xiaomi ranked third overall in EV sales and topped the premium electric vehicle segment.

Data from Russian automotive analytics firm Autostat show that 835 EVs were sold in Russia in January, a 28% year-on-year increase. The top five brands were dominated by Chinese manufacturers:

  • Evolute: 212 units (25.4%)
  • Geely: 165 units (19.8%)
  • Xiaomi: 99 units (11.9%)
  • Zeekr: 91 units (10.9%)
  • BYD: 76 units (9.1%)

Xiaomi Motors also shines in its domestic market, selling 39,000 units in January 2026. The new SU7 generation is scheduled for launch in April, featuring full LiDAR standard and a driving range exceeding 900 km.

The company is also preparing for European expansion: in November 2025, Xiaomi President Lu Weibing completed a two-day SU7 test drive in Germany, covering nearly 800 km and testing the country’s mature charging infrastructure, paving the way for a 2027 European market entry.

Xiaomi’s strong performance in Russia and China demonstrates its successful premium EV strategy and sets the stage for its upcoming European launch.
