 React Foundation was officially launched under the Linux Foundation, marking a new chapter for React, React Native, and related projects like JSX. These projects are no longer owned by Meta but managed by an independent foundation.

  • Founding Members: Eight platinum members—Amazon, Callstack, Expo, Huawei, Meta, Microsoft, Software Mansion, and Vercel
  • Governance: Board composed of member representatives; Seth Webster serves as Executive Director
  • Technical Governance: Remains independent and led by contributors, separate from the board
  • Transition Tasks: Finalize governance structure, migrate code repositories and websites, support ecosystem initiatives, and prepare the next React Conf

React team emphasized the milestone while expressing gratitude to the thousands of contributors over the past decade.
