Accoeding to the Sci-Tech Innovation Board Daily, sources revealed that StarV, Meizu’s AR glasses brand, is seeking independent financing and may consider a potential spin-off. The brand has already approached several interested companies, though negotiations are ongoing.

Earlier, Meizu Technology announced a strategic shift, suspending domestic in-house R&D for new smartphone hardware and actively seeking third-party hardware partners. Existing operations remain unaffected. Smartphones, AI glasses, and PANDAER products will continue to be sold, and the Flyme system and after-sales team will maintain updates and repair services to safeguard user interests. Overseas smartphone operations, AI glasses, and the PANDAER tech fashion brand will also begin market-oriented operations.

StarV AR smart glasses, StarV View, were launched in September 2024 with a peak brightness of 700 nits and a 120Hz high refresh rate, starting at RMB 2,399. The brand later expanded its lineup with StarV Ring2 smart ringStarV Air2 smart glasses, and StarV Snap AI capture glasses, creating a full AR/wearable product ecosystem.
