Xu Ruohan Accused of Cold Attitude on Set, Video Sparks Divided Reactions Online

(Beijing, 20th) Rising Chinese actress Xu Ruohan has gained popularity through dramas such as Summer Flowers and Love You. However, a recent on-set clip has sparked controversy after she was seen urging staff during filming.

Xu is currently working on the drama Yu Dian Qiu. In the circulating footage, filmed in temperatures around 2°C, she was wearing a thin period costume while preparing for a scene. As a staff member adjusted her co-star’s outfit, Xu appeared to frown slightly and said, “Hurry up, it’s cold.”

The clip quickly drew mixed reactions online. Some criticized her for appearing impatient, while others defended her, noting that filming in such cold conditions could naturally affect one’s demeanor.

Xu later issued an apology via video, explaining that the low temperature affected her condition and that she did not intend to express any negativity. She admitted she “could have handled it better” and promised to improve her emotional control in future work.

The 28-year-old actress, a graduate of the Beijing Film Academy, is known for her fresh and natural image. She has appeared in several dramas and gained further attention in 2025 after starring alongside Zhang Linghe.

However, her professionalism has been questioned before. During her appearance on Infinite Acting Class 2, she broke down on set after misunderstanding industry terminology, prompting criticism from mentor Derek Yee regarding her emotional resilience and professionalism.
