(Taipei, 19th) Taiwanese influencer Chen Nengchuan, known online as “Goodnight Chicken,” has returned to Taiwan after completing his prison sentence in Cambodia for staging a fake kidnapping incident. However, upon arrival, he was immediately arrested due to an outstanding warrant in Taiwan.
Authorities confirmed that officers were already on standby at Taoyuan International Airport and took him into custody as soon as he landed. This marked his first public appearance since returning. He appeared noticeably thinner, with a beard and a fatigued expression.
Later, Chen posted on social media, revealing that he had been away from Taiwan for 766 days and had spent 36 days in detention and immigration processing before finally returning. He admitted that at one point, he feared he might not be able to come back at all.
He also stated that what the public has seen is only “the tip of the iceberg,” suggesting that the full story is far more complicated. He apologized to supporters for causing concern and disappointment.
Chen further disclosed that he suffered significant financial losses during the past two years, including being scammed out of approximately NT$13 million, leaving him in financial distress.
He announced plans to hold a press conference to explain the full details of the incident, teasing, “If I reveal the whole truth, would you be willing to listen?”—a remark that has sparked renewed public interest.
