Private Videos of 9 Male and Female Idols Leak Online — Alleged List Sparks Widespread Controversy

(Tokyo, March 31) A new controversy has emerged in Japan’s entertainment industry after a video allegedly showing multiple idols at a private gathering surfaced on social media platform X. The account “@4qaes” claimed that several artists from different groups were involved in underage drinking, smoking, and other questionable behavior. Due to the sensitive nature of the allegations, the video quickly surpassed 75 million views, sparking intense public discussion.

The post named nine individuals, including Suzuki Yujin, Suzuki Kurumi, Fukada Ryusei, Taguchi Manaka, Ukisho Hidaka, Yamane Suzuha, Motoki Waku, Muto Orin, and Mukaichi Mion, along with their respective groups such as ACEes, B&ZAI, and AKB48. The account also suggested possible private connections between some of the individuals and hinted that more content may be released.

Footage circulating online appears to show several men and women interacting in an indoor setting resembling a private party. One woman is seen seemingly unsteady on her feet, possibly due to alcohol consumption, while alcohol and e-cigarette use are also suggested. However, the origin, timing, and full context of the video remain unverified. Some observers have raised concerns about possible editing or even AI-generated manipulation, meaning its authenticity is still uncertain.

Among those named, Suzuki Yujin was the first to respond publicly. In an apology statement, he admitted that he had “lost the self-awareness expected of an idol” and expressed regret over his actions. Reports indicate that the footage dates back to around September 2024, when he was 19 years old, raising concerns about underage drinking and smoking. While he did not address other specific allegations, his statement has been interpreted by many as an indirect acknowledgment of the incident.
