(Seoul, 17th) As the iconic Coachella Festival kicks off this April, a major development has emerged from the Korean entertainment industry. Park Jin-young, Chief Creative Officer of JYP, is reportedly planning a new K-pop mega festival titled “Fanomenon,” bringing together the industry’s four biggest agencies.

According to Korean media, HYBE, YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment are currently in discussions to establish a joint venture. The initiative aims to create a global-scale K-pop music festival, with ambitions to rival—and potentially surpass—Coachella.

JYP Entertainment stated that the project is still in its early discussion phase, with details such as business structure and operations yet to be finalized. However, the company confirmed ongoing discussions with Korea’s cultural exchange authorities to explore collaboration and promote Korean culture globally.

The joint venture is expected to be equally funded by all four companies and will oversee planning and execution, potentially serving as the main operating body for “Fanomenon.” The festival is tentatively scheduled to debut in South Korea in December 2027, with plans to expand into a global touring event starting May 2028.

The name “Fanomenon” blends “fan” and “phenomenon,” symbolizing a cultural movement created by fans. Park has previously expressed his vision to establish it as a national-level cultural IP that could elevate K-pop’s global influence and boost tourism.

Although still unconfirmed, the rare collaboration between the four entertainment giants has already sparked excitement among fans, with many calling it a “dream lineup” and expressing strong anticipation for the event.
