This transfer was never going to be an even contest. According to journalist Matteo Moretto, Juventus have effectively pulled out of the race for Sandro Tonali.

The reason is simple—cost.
Currently playing for Newcastle United, Tonali is valued at around €100 million, a figure that is difficult for Serie A clubs to match. Juventus, needing reinforcements across multiple positions, cannot justify allocating their entire budget to one player.

A return to Italy now looks unlikely. Tonali has established himself in the Premier League and is widely regarded as one of the most complete midfielders in the league. Newcastle are also under no pressure to sell unless a record-breaking offer arrives.
