(Taipei, April 23) Taiwanese actress Michelle Chen recently suffered an Achilles tendon rupture during a training session and underwent emergency surgery. Nearly a month later, she was spotted at a hospital on April 22 for post-operative rehabilitation—her first public appearance since taking a break from work.
In the photos, Chen was seen using a wheelchair, dressed in a pink knit cardigan paired with black pants, keeping a simple and casual look. Appearing without makeup, she still looked fresh and composed. However, her leg was heavily casted, and her mobility was clearly limited, requiring assistance from staff throughout.
After completing her rehabilitation session, she was wheeled out of the hospital by her assistant and later helped into a car by a driver. Despite the injury, her overall condition appeared stable, which reassured many fans.
Following the release of the images, fans flooded social media with supportive messages such as: “You look good—wishing you a speedy recovery,” “Even without makeup, you look so youthful,” and “Take your time to heal, we’ll be waiting for your comeback.”
Earlier, Chen had personally addressed fans, apologizing for her injury and reassuring them: “Dear everyone, I’m sorry I got injured again, but please don’t worry too much—I will focus on recovery.” She also reminded the public to take care of their health.
Her studio later confirmed that the surgery was successful and announced that some public engagements would be postponed or adjusted to allow her to fully recover.
