Sentenced to 9 Years! 41-Year-Old Robinho Studies 600 Hours of Electronics, Parole Reduction Request for 50 Days Denied

Recently, former Brazilian football star Robinho faced a major setback as his request for sentence reduction while in prison was rejected. According to Brazilian media, the 41-year-old Robinho applied to reduce his sentence by 50 days but was not approved by the court.

Robinho’s career included stints at top clubs such as Real Madrid, Manchester City, and AC Milan. In 2013, he was involved in a sexual assault case in Italy. In March last year, the Brazilian court delivered the final verdict sentencing him to 9 years in prison, but he is not required to be extradited to Italy to serve the sentence.

For nearly a year, Robinho has been serving his sentence in Tremembé prison in Brazil. It is reported that he has shown humility in prison and actively sought ways to reduce his sentence. From April to September last year, Robinho diligently studied an electronics course totaling 600 hours, learning practical skills such as how to install multiple antennas on a power pole.

Under Brazilian law, prisoners can reduce one day from their sentence for every 12 hours of course completion. Based on this, Robinho submitted a request to reduce his sentence by 50 days, which complies with relevant regulations.

However, the court ultimately denied his request, keeping his sentence at 9 years, with the reasons for rejection not publicly disclosed. Robinho’s lawyer has yet to respond.

Before imprisonment, Robinho’s net worth was estimated at £60 million, but now he lives a difficult life in prison. Last Christmas, he applied for parole but was also denied. Robinho’s wife and three children are still waiting for his return at home.
