(New York, April 10) Instagram has introduced a new update to enhance user interaction by officially rolling out a comment editing feature. Users can now edit their comments within 15 minutes after posting, allowing quick corrections of typos or unintended wording.

Previously, users often had to delete and repost comments if mistakes were made or if the tone came across too strong. With this new feature, comments can be edited directly within the 15-minute window, streamlining the process and making conversations more fluid.

Once a comment is edited, the system will display an “Edited” label to indicate that changes have been made. However, unlike its sister platform Facebook under Meta, Instagram does not provide a version history, meaning previous versions of the comment cannot be viewed.

Importantly, this feature is not part of any paid subscription and is available to all users.

Meta has also revealed that Instagram is currently testing new subscription models, though the comment editing feature remains a core experience update rather than a premium offering.
