On April 27 (Beijing time), Team China Basketball not only announced a 19-player short training camp roster but also revealed the Chinese men’s national team’s four-game friendly schedule for June.

China will first face Serbian club KK FMP Beograd in two games on June 3 and 4 in Changsha. Later, on June 21 and 23 in Hangzhou, they will take on the Australia men's national basketball team and the Netherlands men's national basketball team.

The 2025–26 CBA regular season has concluded, with the playoffs set to begin on April 28 and the Finals ending no later than June 14. As most national team players are still competing in the playoffs, the current 19-man training squad mainly consists of younger players who did not qualify for the postseason. It also includes NCAA returnees Wang Junjie and Zhao Weilun, along with Tsinghua University players Xi Taicheng and Shi Kui.

This phase of training is clearly focused on evaluating young talent and building depth. As the CBA playoffs progress, players eliminated from the postseason are expected to gradually join the national team setup.

As a result, the early June friendlies against the Serbian club will mainly serve as a testing ground for the younger lineup. The real highlight comes in late June, when the full national squad is expected to be available, making the matchups against Australia and the Netherlands far more competitive and valuable.
