South Korean singer-actress IU (Lee Ji-eun), who recently confirmed the end of her four-year relationship with Lee Jong-suk, has announced that she is postponing her long-awaited comeback due to worsening health issues.

IU had originally planned to release a new album in the second half of the year and hold a solo concert in September. However, she revealed on July 20 that both the album and the concert have been postponed after her long-term ear condition deteriorated.

In a heartfelt message shared through her official fan community, IU explained that her chronic patulous Eustachian tube disorder has recently become significantly worse. Despite receiving treatment and carefully monitoring her condition, changing weather and prolonged periods of intensive work have caused her symptoms to flare up almost constantly, making it difficult for her to sing at her usual standard.

She revealed that recording for the new album has already been completed and that the concept photos have also been finished. IU added that she worked with several new creative teams and is extremely proud of the project.

Following a medical evaluation, doctors advised her against holding a concert because the prolonged singing, dancing and physical demands would place excessive strain on her current condition.

As a result, IU confirmed that her September solo concert has been canceled and the release of her new album has been postponed.

"I really, really, really wanted to hold this concert and sing, shout and run together with UAENA," she wrote. "But even I know that performing in September would be pushing myself too hard."

Feeling apologetic, IU admitted she was saddened that her health had disrupted what should have been a joyful second half of 2026.

She reassured fans that although the condition does not cause severe pain or interfere with daily life, it significantly affects her ability to perform as a singer. IU promised to focus on recovery and return to the stage once she is in better health.
