Late Barbie Hsu's Luxury Home Officially Transferred to Three Heirs, August Mediation Hearing to Proceed as Scheduled

TAIPEI, July 26 — More than a year after the passing of Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu (Da S), the inheritance of her luxury residence has finally been settled. Ownership of the property in Taipei's Xinyi District has been divided equally among her husband, Koo Jun-yup, and her two underage children, with each receiving a one-third share.

According to Taiwanese media, Da S owned two major properties during her lifetime — the "Taipei Xinyi" penthouse and the "National Art Gallery" residence. The Xinyi penthouse, which she purchased in 2016 for NT$362 million (approximately RM46 million), officially completed its ownership transfer in late July.

As the two children are still minors, all registration and property management matters are currently being handled by their legal guardian, Wang Xiaofei.

Meanwhile, Da S' mother, who currently lives in the "National Art Gallery" property, is facing uncertainty. Since the home is not registered under her name and mortgage issues remain unresolved, she could be forced to move out or even face a court-ordered property auction.

A mediation hearing scheduled for the end of August will proceed as planned. A friend of Wang Xiaofei revealed that discussions will extend beyond the luxury home and include other real estate assets as well as the remaining estate.

The inheritance dispute has seen several conflicting reports in recent weeks. Earlier rumours claimed that Koo Jun-yup had agreed to give up his inheritance rights, while Da S' mother expressed concern that she might eventually lose her home. However, the latest reports indicate that Koo has no intention of waiving his inheritance, with both sides set to continue negotiations through mediation.

Responding to speculation that she was orchestrating the dispute, Da S' mother firmly denied the allegations, calling the rumours baseless. She said she is already worried about potentially losing her home and has neither the energy nor the desire to respond to unfounded gossip.
