(Kuala Lumpur, July 28) Radio station 988 celebrated its 30th anniversary with the After Work Fest 2026 at Stadium Merdeka last Saturday, bringing together a star-studded lineup including Accusefive, Bestards, Chen Hua, Firdaus, Namewee, YELLOW, Hana Hope and icyball. The outdoor music festival attracted thousands of fans for a day filled with music, entertainment and lifestyle experiences.

The event kicked off with a warm-up performance hosted by 8TV, featuring Lee Yi Ling and Low En Jun. Local singer-songwriter Layla Sania, Taiwanese singer Chen Hua and Malaysian artist Namewee then took the stage with energetic performances.

Chen Hua also chose Malaysia for the world premiere performance of her new song "The Eighth Ocean", while announcing plans to return for another concert next year, delighting fans.

Taiwanese singer-songwriter YELLOW impressed the audience by greeting fans in four languages—Mandarin, English, Malay and Cantonese—earning enthusiastic applause.

The second half of the show opened with Taiwanese band icyball, followed by Bestards, Japanese rising singer Hana Hope and Malaysian singer Firdaus. Besides performing his own hits, Firdaus surprised the crowd with a cover of "Lei Qiao", a song he previously performed on Our Song 6.

Both icyball and Bestards also revealed that they are preparing to return to Malaysia for future concerts, asking fans to stay tuned.

Headliner Accusefive wrapped up the festival. Although a nearly 10-minute soundcheck before their performance tested the audience's patience, the band's arrival quickly reignited the atmosphere with hit songs including "Take Me to the Nightlife" and "Missed Lovers". Thousands of fans sang along and waved their hands, turning Stadium Merdeka into one massive outdoor singalong party.
