Tom Holland Left on Read After Messaging Erling Haaland, Calls It “A Humbling Experience”

HOLLYWOOD, July 15 – Actor Tom Holland has confirmed that football star Erling Haaland left his Instagram message unanswered after the Norwegian striker admitted he did not realise the sender was the Spider-Man actor.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Holland laughed as he recalled reaching out to Haaland in hopes of meeting him for dinner.

"Yes, I really did message him," Holland said. "For an actor, it was a very humbling experience."

The Spider-Man star joked that he had expected at least some kind of reply.

"You think, 'I'm going to message him and invite him to dinner,' and then... nothing," he said. "Not even a polite excuse like, 'Sorry, I'm busy playing football tonight.'"

Holland explained that he decided to contact Haaland after spotting him across the VIP hospitality area during the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix last month.

"I just thought I'd give it a try," he said. "I never imagined I'd end up talking about it on national television."

Despite being ignored, Holland had nothing but praise for the Manchester City striker, calling him "incredible" and "an absolute legend."

When asked whether he would still invite Haaland to dinner, Holland jokingly replied, "After what happened the other day, I don't think he'd want to have dinner with me," referring to Norway's recent defeat to England in a World Cup match.
