She recently attended good friend Janet Chow’s 43rd birthday celebration alongside Charmaine Sheh, Angela Tong, Toby Leung, Yiu Lok Yi and Annie Man, but her noticeably slimmer appearance sparked concern.
According to Hong Kong media reports, a reader claimed to have spotted Toby Leung and a friend outside the intensive care unit (ICU) at CUHK Medical Centre this morning, prompting reports that Chung had been admitted to the ICU.
When the media called Chung’s phone, her husband Nardone Ruggero answered. Asked about his wife’s health, he said, “She’s OK.” When questioned about reports that she was in the ICU, he repeated that she was fine before quickly ending the call.
Chung’s appearance at the recent birthday gathering had already worried some netizens, who noticed that she looked considerably slimmer and tired. Charmaine Sheh previously explained that Chung had been suffering from the flu that day and was feeling unwell and fatigued, which affected how she appeared in the photos.
