On May 19, Sony Pictures officially announced that the highly anticipated film Kung Fu Dream: The Path of Fusion, starring Jackie Chan, will be released in mainland China on June 7, 2025. Jackie Chan takes on the role of the “Frying Pan Warrior,” showcasing his classic kung fu style and thrilling audiences once again.

Wang Ban (Journey to the West ABC) plays the lead role, with supporting performances from Wen Mingna, Sadie Stanley, and Joshua Jackson.

This movie serves as a spiritual successor to the 1984 classic The Karate Kid and its 2010 remake The Karate Kid, which starred Macchio and Chan respectively, both telling stories of young Americans learning martial arts.

Plot Summary:
Chinese teenager Li Feng arrives in New York and faces bullying from the local karate champion. His former master, Master Han, crosses the ocean to help, joining forces with karate master Daniel to train Li Feng. Blending Eastern and Western martial arts culture, this action film combines classic kung fu elements with modern competitive spirit, destined to be a highlight of the summer action lineup.
