The World’s Lightest and Thinnest Foldable Phone: Honor Magic V5 to Launch Globally Next Week

On July 7, 2025, Honor officially announced that its latest foldable flagship, the Honor Magic V5, will be launched in overseas markets on July 15. Following its debut in the domestic market earlier this year, this device, hailed as the "world’s lightest and thinnest foldable phone," is highly anticipated.

The Honor Magic V5 reduces its foldable screen thickness to just 8.8mm and weighs only 217g, making it even slimmer and lighter than some traditional straight-screen phones. This design achieves true portability without burden while breaking new ground in battery life, imaging, and durability, delivering an uncompromised foldable experience.

In terms of specs, the Magic V5 is the first large-screen foldable flagship equipped with the full-power Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform, supporting up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 top-tier storage. It features a 7.95-inch LTPO AMOLED inner screen and a 6.43-inch LTPO OLED outer screen, both supporting an adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz to balance smooth visuals and power efficiency.

The camera system is equally impressive, with dual 20MP front cameras and a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP ultra-wide autofocus lens, and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens.
