[Global Report] The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is bracing for a significant workforce change. According to a NASA spokesperson cited by a CCTV reporter on July 25, around 20% of its staff—approximately 3,870 employees—are expected to leave the agency in the coming weeks.

This estimate remains fluid and could change in the next few days or weeks. If the departures proceed as projected, NASA’s total workforce will shrink to around 14,000 employees.
